The animal sciences ambassadors are a diverse group of students who represent our department to future students, aid and design activities for our current students, and provide student representation to our alumni and guests.

Sterling, IL / Pre-Vet
My future plans include graduating from ACES with a bachelor's degree in animal sciences. Next year I plan to apply to a college of veterinary medicine. My ultimate career goal is to become a large/mixed animal veterinarian.
Woodstock, IL / Equine Science/Companion Animals + Leadership Studies
After graduating with my bachelor's degree in May 2022, I plan to go ont o graduate school to get a master's degree in livestock reproduction and breeding. Ultimately, I would love to work with livestock producers and consult with them on their animals' reproductive needs.
Metamora, IL / Food Animal Production and Management + Spanish and Leadership
I plan to graduate in 2022 and go into the meat industry. I ideally would do quality assurance in a pork processing plant. If the opportunity arises to go to grad school, I would.
Lombard, IL / Pre-Vet + Spanish
My future plans are to graduate with my degree in animal sciences with a minor in Spanish. I will then apply and attend veterinary school hopefully at the University of Illinois. I am hoping to be a mixed animal veterinarian as well as become a clinical instructor at a veterinary school.
Algonquin, IL / Pre-Vet + Chemistry and Leadership
I will be graduating in 2022 and applying to vet school. I see myself going to the UIUC vet school but I will be applying to many Midwest schools. I want to work as a mixed practice veterinarian.
Kankakee, IL / Companion Animal
I will graduate in 2023, and plan to apply to graduate school. I am not sure where I want to attend graduate school yet. Right now as a future career I want to work with service/therapy animals.
Manhattan, IL / Pre-Vet + NRES
After graduation, I plan to attend veterinary school to study wildlife/zoo medicine. After vet school, I hope to participate in a residency program in a zoological institution and go on to become a wildlife/zoo veterinarian with a focus on conservation education.
Mason City, IL / Pre-Vet
I plan to graduate with my bachelor's degree in animal sciences before attending vet school. I would love to attend vet school here at Illinois. Ultimate career goal is to work as a mixed practice veterinarian.
Dix, IL / Pre-Vet
My future plans are to graduate with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. Following completion of this degree, I hope to be accepted into the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. My ultimate career goal is to be a large animal veterinarian in Southern Illinois.
Lockport, IL / Pre-Vet + Chemistry
After graduating, I hope to attend veterinary school to become a small animal vet. I also hope to spend my time volunteering for shelters after becoming a vet.
Springfield, IL / Pre-Vet, Science, Medical
After graduation in May 2023, my current plan is to attend veterinary school in hopes of becoming a mixed practice or large animal veterinarian. I am looking to go to U of I as well as schools in the southeast US. My other interests in animal sciences include swine and cattle nutrition.
